Vampires Take Over the Plaza Theatre: “Randy Mandy & The Curse of the Plaza Theatre” – A Hauntingly Hillarious Event!
Atlanta, GA – The Atlanta Film Society is partnering with local industry members for an event dedicated to Georgia screenwriters. Chosen through a submission process, Page to Stage highlights the best of Georgia's locally written, unproduced screenplays in a live staged reading with professional casts.
Join us on Monday, September 9th at 7:00 pm at the historic Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, for a staged reading of Atlanta locals Leanna Adams and Kristina Arjona's feature dark comedy, Randy Mandy and the Curse of the Plaza Theater. This unique staged reading promises an immersive experience, blending live theater with cinematic flair in a one-of-a-kind vampire-themed event.
The stellar cast includes Melissa Haas as Mandy, Adetinpo Thomas as Dawn, Lee Osorio as Ignacio, and Norio Nishimura as Raul. The evening will also include live organ music performed by Ken Double, a special musical appearance from Blair Crimmins and Davi Crimmins, and many more Atlanta favorites making vampire cameos, including horror star Jenna Kanell.
This project proudly centers BIPOC, queer, and female artists both on camera and behind the lens, with built-in mentorship through organizations like Film Impact Georgia, Atlanta Film Society, and more. The initiative represents a commitment to diverse voices and inclusive storytelling, ensuring that the future of film is both vibrant and representative of all communities.
But that’s not all! Attendees can look forward to exciting surprises throughout the night, including raffles with thrilling prizes, live music by the talented Ken Double on the organ, and a free limited edition blood bag drink for the first 100 guests. Guests are also encouraged to come dressed as vampires, adding an extra layer of fun and immersion to this already unforgettable experience.
