This screenwriting course is created for underrepresented and minority writers to develop stories that are often untold. While the course will also focus on the basic tenets of screenwriting including structure, tone, and character, its main focus will be to help writers discover their inner voice and write stories that break convention.

2020 has been quite the year. The country we call home is being tested to its very core by events that none of us could have foreseen. There is a silver lining, however, as our systemic inequities are not only being questioned, but the possibility of change and justice seems more likely than it ever has before.

We all have a voice, but how many of us are willing to find it? All of the parables we heard during our childhood from parents and grandparents and the various others that we encounter on a daily basis suggest that we have far more stories inside us than we think.
