A brilliant writer knows how to create exciting scenes in a manner that captivates both script readers and viewers. Improvisation techniques can enhance that creativity, leading to fresh material for comedic and dramatic stories and everything in between. In this two-day workshop, writers participate in guided team exercises (including improv games) and experiment with various practical approaches to produce ideas that could help build a script. The collaborative environment not only generates content but can also enhance self-confidence. Overnight, you write a couple of new pages, and the next day you see a script-in-hand staged reading of your improv-inspired scene.
It's back! The Atlanta Film Society and Kodak are in partnership to present the 100 Feet of Film Project. This project provides a team of filmmakers with the opportunity to maximize their creativity while minimizing the ability to reshoot. Through this project, filmmakers will learn to effectively and efficiently shoot on a limited reel of film stock, and in the process, must focus on the fundamentals of filmmaking. Join us for a discussion with Camilo Diaz, Crystal Jin Kim, Brian Lonano, and Angelica Perez-Castro as they talk about their individual experiences participating in the program and shooting on film.
Transitioning from the written word to a cinematic masterpiece requires a well-structured roadmap. The Screenwriting Series is an online course for writers who are new to screenwriting. The series, taught by Kathy Berardi, an independent writer-producer and UCLA MFA Screenwriting alum, embraces the philosophy of learning by doing. The 4-week Hollywood-style class helps students get into a collaborative mindset to learn the art of storytelling and technical essentials required for professional screenplays. Beyond receiving instruction and step by step how-to advice in each webinar, students will be motivated and encouraged to jump right into writing by collaborating with the instructor and each other with creative brainstorms, process and content critiques, and online discussion.
Are you ready to take your screenwriting to the next level? Have you written short films but feel overwhelmed by the prospect of a full-length feature? Have you completed feature-length scripts but aren't content with the results? These tailored classes are here to help.
This class will provide participants with the tools to identify the most suitable festivals for their films, craft compelling submissions, and create impactful marketing strategies to generate buzz and attract audiences.

You will be able to bring storyboards for a 2-3 minute scene to class, either from your script or a published screenplay, which the Instructor will approve before the course starts.
